Kingsbarns History
Project - Meeting - Monday 5 December, 7.00pm in Village Hall - all
welcome
Come to this open group meeting if you would like to become
involved in, or know more about, this community council supported 'History of
Kingsbarns' project - the form of which is yet to be decided.
According to co-ordinater Ian Smith:
"It is proposed that a history of Kingsbarns be
compiled, covering the key developments in the village and the surrounding
farms and estates. The main perspective would be to look at the social history
of the village, with particular features on the school and kirk (and on the
golf course), although there would also be coverage of the changing patterns of
employment in the area. It is intended to utilise material from villagers past
and present to enliven the end product with the inclusion of anecdotes and
'stories' and similar use will be made of photographs and manuscripts etc. The
resultant publication should help to further increase knowledge about, and the
reputation of, the village, while also having educational value by involving
the current school pupils."
