It's business as usual at Kingsbarns Links
Rosemary Dewar, The Citizen, 29 November 2007
There has been no change of ownership at Kingsbarns Golf
Links.
That has been made clear by one of its co-owners, David
Wasserman, whose company wishes to develop the former university residence,
Hamilton Hall, overlooking St Andrews' Old Course.
This week the Citizen contacted Mr Wasserman, of Rhode
Island-based Wasserman Real Estate Capital LLC, after reliable sources in the
golfing community reported that he had bought out partner Art Dunkley's share
in the seven-year-old championship course used in the Dunhill Links
Championship and on the PGA European Tour schedule.
Speaking from the States, Mr Wasserman told the Citizen:
"The ownership structure of Kingsbarns has not changed.
''Art and I still have co-ontrol. There has been no buyout
nor exchange of shares."
In August 2005, Wasserman announced its co-controlling
interest in Kingsbarns Golf Links not long after introducing its plans for
developing "The St Andrews Grand" in the iconic red sandstone, former
university residence overlooking the 18th hole on the Old Course.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed and, at the time,
the company put its completion date as Spring 2008. more
