Community spirit in the East Neuk village of Kingsbarns has
helped to launch a local youth club. Youth
club members enjoy the results of their determination and enthusiasm
The club meets every Tuesday evening in the Memorial Hall
and offers two sessions of activities to youngsters.
The first session from 6.30 to 8 pm caters for the P4 to P7
age group, while the 8 to 9.30 pm session is for S1 upwards.
Club secretary Main Robertson said, "The young people of
the village have been instrumental in getting the club restarted and have been
extremely enthusiastic about suggesting activities in which they would like to
get involved.
The Kingsbarns Youth Clubs steering group would
like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped to get the club up and
running. Particular thanks go to those who have donated cash, games and, of
course, those who offered their services as youth club leaders.
The annual membership is £1 per person, while an
entrance fee of £1 is payable for each night attended.
The clubs venue, the Memorial Hall, re-opened a few
months ago after a £128,500 boost from the National Charities Lottery
Board allowed a renovation programme, which has seen the roof replaced, a new
heating system fitted, and the addition of facilities for the disabled.
