Your Place Your Plan - Local Plan for East Fife

Fife Council News, 6 August 2004

The follow up to the Autumn 2003 East Fife Community Consultation, was 5 Locality Your Place - Your Plan meetings. These provided feedback about the Community Consultation and discussion groups to further inform the draft Local Plan for St. Andrews and East Fife.

Over 400 people participated in the events, which focused on identifying:

  • sites to be protected from development;
  • sites suitable for development;
  • the nature of any potential development;
  • infrastructure issues including sewerage, roads, utilities and amenities; and
  • desired outcomes from any potential developments.

At all five events, participants identified a number of common development issues and some common principles about how they felt that the Local Plan should be developed and implemented.

The 5 Your Place Your Plan Feedback sheets (one for each locality) précis the points raised at each meeting. They will be circulated to the participants who requested them and will also be available in Local Offices.

N.B. Due to space limitations, Drumoig is on the St Andrews Locality sheet.

The workshop notes from the discussion groups are posted by locality and settlement.

It is intended to put the Consultative Draft Local Plan to East Area Development Committee on December 7th 2004. The document will be published for consultation by early 2005.

Comments made will inform the Finalised Draft Local Plan timetabled for the end of 2005. Any unresolved objections made to the Finalised Draft, will be subject to Public Local Inquiry. The Local Plan is expected to be adopted in 2007.

PLEASE NOTE: The timetable has slipped, and the Consultative Draft Local Plan will not now be placed before the East Area Development Committee in December. Check Fife Council website for an update.
