Kingsbarns View - June 2000 extract from Karail (Crail and Kingsbarns Parish News)

The Kingsbarns Sunday School cheered us all up on Easter Sunday. The children and their teachers came in wearing the most delightful Easter Bonnets! After a short introduction by their leader, Mrs Denholm, we were treated to a song about Kingsbarns to the tune of "Twinkle, twinkle little star" which went down well. In fact our Minister was so impressed that he made the whole congregation sing it again! For those who missed the Easter Service, here are the words of Mrs Denholm's little masterpiece :-

Do dum diddle dum di dum ding
Kingsbarns kids here's how we sing
Jesus lives with us each day
Sees our thoughts, hears what we say
In our hearts He'll always be
We love Him and He loves me
Do dum diddle dum di dum dong
Kingsbarns kids - that was our song!

At the end of this enjoyable service, the children brought to every member of the congregation, a very attractive present of Easter eggs.

Congratulations to Frank Cameron of Kingsbarns who was award a silver badge at the RNLI Scottish AGM in City Chambers, Glasgow on 23 May. It was in recognition of his work for the Crail and Kingsbarns Branch.

There was a good turnout for Communion Sunday at the end of April and most of us stayed behind for coffee and a long and pleasant chat.

The Thursday coffee morning ladies are now allowing men to serve too! One has already been enlisted and whether you would like to help or just enjoy a cup of coffee with us, please come along any Thursday between 9.30 and 11.30 am. A very warm welcome awaits you!

This year's World Day of Prayer service was again greatly enhanced by the annual visit from Crail Church Choir. Although the attendance was small we were very much encouraged by several new supporters.

The Ladies' Work Party will hold a Strawberry tea at Hillhead Farm, Kingsbarns on Saturday, 8 July from 2.00 to 4.00 pm. Tickets are £1.50. There will be a raffle and home baking.
