AND SCHEDULE 4 PLANNING APPEAL BY THE INTERNATIONAL GOLF CLUB OF ST ANDREWS
LTD: DEVELOPMENT OF 2 GOLF COURSES, A CLUBHOUSE, RESIDENTIAL LODGES AND CAR
PARKING ON LAND AT SCOONIEHILL FARM, ST ANDREWS
Intro
1. I refer to your clients appeal, which I have been
appointed to determine, against the refusal of outline planning permission by
Fife Council for the development of 2 golf courses, a clubhouse, residential
lodges and car parking on land at the above location. I conducted a public
local inquiry into the appeal in the Council Chambers. within the Town Hall, St
Andrews between 21 and 24 November and on the 28 November 2000. I also made an
accompanied inspection of the appeal site and the surrounding area on 27
November 2000. In addition, I have considered the written submissions of the
parties on the matter.
For reasons set out in paragraphs 51 - 72 I have decided that the appeal
should be dismissed.
